Senior Associate - Alexandria Venture Investments
Hunter Reed is Senior Associate – Science & Technology at Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., an S&P 500® urban office REIT (Alexandria), and Alexandria Venture Investments, the company’s strategic venture capital platform. In his role, Mr. Reed supports venture investments, tenant underwriting, and business development in Alexandria’s San Diego cluster. Through Alexandria Venture Investments, Mr. Reed manages more than 25 early- and growth-stage Southern California life science investments spanning therapeutics, research tools, and molecular diagnostics. Alexandria Venture Investments has been recognized by Silicon Valley Bank as the most active biopharma corporate investor by new deal volume for the last four consecutive years.
Mr. Reed currently serves on the board of Cradle Genomics as an observer and supports innovation in San Diego through his involvement on the executive committee of Connect, Biocom California’s capital development committee, and on the board of Spark Bio.
Formerly, Mr. Reed held roles at multiple early-stage life science companies, including Interpreta (acquired by Centene) and Applied Proteomics (acquired by DiscernDx), where he supported efforts in corporate strategy, operations, and finance. Mr. Reed holds an MBA from SDSU and a B.A. from The University of Virginia.
